Our Toxic Houses
We know about the microscopic chemicals and toxic mixes in our water, our building materials, our personal care products, our food and just about everything else that makes up our daily lives.
Our indoor air is made up of billions of microscopic toxins and chemicals.
Awareness and source control are great where we can. A filter, like our ToxBox is an excellent, affordable option to help support your healthy indoor lifestyle.

BioBox Eco-EnergySaving Leadership in Air Filtration
One of the great "inconvenient truths" about air filtration is high pressure drop or restricted air flow.
The higher the pressure drop rating, the higher the air flow is restricted, causing increased energy to be used to drive the air through the filter and longer and more expensive cycle times needed to heat or cool our homes.
BioBox, an exclusive 1" electrostatic pleated filter, offers homeowners the best combinations of premium healthy air filtration, exceptional and efficient air flow to keep energy costs low all at a great price when compared to other high end filter products.
Canadian Tire is helping to provide Canadians with information and products that help improve our environment both inside and out. We at InnerEco are proud to be supporting these outstanding contributions to improving the environment on Our Planet, Your Home.
I continue to applaud the wonderful informational efforts of David Suzuki and the www.powerwise.ca folks, the latest tongue in cheek "draft dodgers" advertising helps to catch our attention...an even toss up with the spot talking about saving $150 on an old beer fridge electrical costs, the saving can be put to better use with more beer!!
Sealing up our homes to help save energy however, can have the unfortunate consequence of potentially harming our health as more and more of the air borne toxins and chemicals are trapped and recirculated inside our homes...and...if the air filter used has a high air pressure drop or restricts the air flow, we may be adding significantly to our energy costs...
BioBox and ToxBox are energy efficient air filters that offer the best in healthy air filtration and exceptional air flow savings.

Changing your filter pads is old news & new hope
While yesterdays newspaper is not as popular as it once was, most of us still have a stack of old papers somewhere in the house that can be used as an excellent "wrapper" when changing out our filter pads:
- Lay out several pages on the floor as close as you can to the filter.
- Unplug, slide out and place the filter on the old news
- Pop the pop ups, place the dirty pads on the old news and roll them up for the garbage!
- Clean off the filter - be careful not to damage or get the electronics wet -
- Put in the new clean pads, repop the pops, slip back into the slot and re-plug the plug
As a loyal and long term newspaper reader, I took the step last year to subscribe on-line.
It is amazing how easy it is to change the long chain of economic and environmental events that was once the newspaper in my hand, the cutting and trucking of trees or mashing used paper, printing, distributing and retailing the paper and me having to make the trip to the village store to pick it up, all now at my finger tips at any time on my home wifi lap top with a hot cup of coffee, still in my favor chair.
I hope and believe that the economic growth cycle of the lumbermen and their clan is faster, more resilient and transplantable as we allow the majesty of our slow growth forests to prosper in a renewed nature. Such is the wish of a new age newspaper reader.

On the The Edge of Yesterday
Simple by today's Wonderful World of Disney, it is an experience I embrace each year.
Those magnificent horse and carriages moving to the trained step of their seated masters, transporting us along a path reminicent of the dominate workings of our recent rural roots.
Today we do not often find time for the singular beauty of a well groomed heifer lead around the ring by a proud group of owners aged 9 to 59, men and women in equal show, looking for a ribbon of recognition in reward of the time, labour and breed.
This is rural time where the quick steps and rapid bursts of text messaging 24/7 has not yet displaced a culture dedicated to the the time and careful nurturing, up close and personal of horses, cows, chickens, tractors, and all manner of growing things.
Local. Natural. And so connected you can't help being touched by a current that sparks as you wandered through the fair grounds reconnecting with a rusty inner core of feelings so in abundance and effortlessly shared by those who have earned them through a lifetime of cradle to grave experiences within their walking distance rural community.
I am looking forward to 157!

BIOBOX.CA -- up and running!
BioBox is our brand new 1" electrostatic pleated furnace filter that is now exclusively available at Canadian Tire Stores Nationally in Canada...
For our U.S. friends, we are in the process establishing a retail partner (or two) where BioBox our brand new best in class pleated filter with wonderfully energy efficient benefits which results in meaningful greenhouse gas and money saving features will be available to you in the near future!
While there is no question that ToxBox is absolutely the best in class and value 1" filter available, we wanted to ensure that our experience in filtration was also made available to homeowners interested in purchasing disposable pleated furnace filters.
We felt that the existing manufactures were only concentrating on the "my filter catches more than your filter" mantra and of course while this is important, it has often been done at the expense of air flow... let's remember, the tighter you weave your filter fabric to capture more particulate, the more you can restrict air flow and push up heating cooling and operating costs...and sometimes by a very large measure...
AND THAT IS CASH OUT OF YOUR FAMILIES BUDGET!!!
So we just took some time to make a good filter that catches lots of stuff BUT we were mindful of the potential for air flow restriction and have reached what we believe is a wonderful balance between exceptional pleated air filtration and highly efficient air flow to help you and your family ... SAVE YOUR MONEY...
And reduce greenhouse gases...and help reduce our energy footprints on this "OUR PLANET, YOUR HOME"... for our children's children....
We are just getting started ... please take a peek at:

Climate change is infectous...
While most of us are preparing for a globe that is warming, there is now some concern in certain circles that we are missing some sun spots which may correlate to a global cooling!
In our ever practical world continuously faced with increased heating and cooling costs the major move is to seal up our homes and work places to save energy...and while a face shaved costs a beard...our vacuum tube existence cost free flowing fresh new air inside.
So we trap and re-circulation the air inside...all the oldies and goodies.
Climate change isn't always about the many things we can't see in the sky above it is also about the direct impact on our indoor enviroment right here in your home...climate change is a very infectious activity in more ways than one!
Interested in a little ENIGMA to go with that INFECTIOUS curiostiy of yours?
An interesting link to some thoughts on sunspots:

Happy 141st & 232nd birthday - Canada & U.S.of A.!
One of the great birthday gifts of the past century or so has been the wonderful growth in our life span...on average we have moved comfortably from the 30-40 range to the 70-80 range.
And it would seem that the emphasis is on the early birthday, since we have done a great job at helping our young survive to puberty, which in turn gives us all a much greater opportunity for a long life.
With the high level of care we provide to our children, we don't often reflect on the great strides we have made in safer birthing, preventive drugs and elimination of infectious diseases, along with sanitation and widely available lifestyle choices in shelter, food, water and general safety.
Now that we are here however, it is worth giving some consideration to our home and our need to make it energy efficient and air tight trapping many microscopic air borne particles (m.a.p.) that are new and perhaps not all that kind.
With our long life expectancy, we need to attend to the quality of our indoor environment during the early years, in particular, to help provide a healthier early life foundation.
While it is wonderful days in our long life expectancy, for generations to come, we should take care to balance our continued great strides against the longer term impact of the many M.A.P. toxins and chemicals that are an intregal part of our living tissue. Good food, pure water and clean air, are a great combination in support of our long expected life.
So maybe this birthday, check for unused old paint and other chemical based cans stored inside and perhaps move them out toward the next recycle date.
